For ASHP Rebates (updated July 2025)
Energy New England's latest updated recommendations for Air Source Heat Pump Rebate Programs better aligns with MassSave program guidance. This simplifies the process for installers and customers regarding what equipment is rebate eligible.
HSPF2 + SEER2 Energy Efficiency Requirements
Program guidance specifies that eligible equipment fall within the following HSPF2 + SEER2 Energy Efficiency Requirements:
Equipment Type | Energy Efficiency Requirements |
---|---|
Ductless | SEER2: ≥ 15 HSPF2: ≥ 8.5 |
Ducted | SEER2: ≥ 14.3 HSPF2: ≥ 7.7 |
Energy New England ASHP Eligible Equipment Lists
MassSave and many other New England Invester-owned Utility Air Source Heat Pump Rebate Programs, such as RMLP's, require that eligible equipment be ENERGY STAR® Cold Climate Certified and listed on a Heat Pump Qualified Product List. In addition to equipment eligibility, RMLP strongly recommends that weatherization measures be completed in homes built prior to the year 2000 in order to be rebate eligible and maximize the efficiency of their systems.
Installation Type | Eligible Equipment Lists |
